It’s a well-known fact now medically that one’s physical health is a mirror of one’s emotions. In saying this, you, Cancer, need to take note of this probably more than the other signs of the zodiac because your feelings dominate your life so very strongly.

I’m driving this point home because this would have to be the single most important factor influencing your health, well-being and ultimately your longevity. Spend time each day working on clarifying your feelings and removing those thoughts which will drag you down.

On the physical level, Cancer rules the chest, stomach and breasts. You are constitutionally weak in these areas and when things go wrong, this is where you may suffer. Some Cancerians also suffer from asthma and bronchial disorders but this again may have to do with suppressed childhood issues which need to be released so that these problems will clear up.

I mentioned earlier your love of the sensual, including eating, possibly overeating. In this respect, try to moderate your diet and don’t mix too many different food types. Because you are a water sign, you probably also like to drink a lot with your meals. Not just alcohol but even water and other cordials and the like. Liquids dilute the gastric juices and can cause fermentation, bloating and other digestive disturbances. Wait some time before drinking and although this may be difficult at first, you’ll soon get the hang of it.

Fruits such as honeydew melons, bananas and the lighter colored fruits and vegetables are excellent tonics and pick-ups for your body. Light vegetables including squash and potatoes are also good for your star sign but eat these in moderation as they do tend to have excess carbohydrates. Finally, low-fat cottage cheese, cucumbers, lettuce and other salads are great for your metabolism as long as you eat small portions several times a day. Chamomile tea is great for calming your intense mood swings.

As for your key zodiac element, water not only influences your emotional responses, but it also impinges on your health. This explains the compelling link between your feelings and your physical body after a period of stress or strain. Any attempt to suppress your feelings may backfire and adversely impact on your physical well-being. Conversely, neglecting your diet when you are emotionally distraught can impair your vigour.

Body parts most sensitive to the water element of your star sign are the breast, stomach, blood and lymphatic system. Since the stomach is a key body part linked to your sign, gluttony is something you'll need to watch. In the long run, consuming foods that harmonise with your physical needs will benefit you. If you're perceptive to your body signals, you will undoubtedly enjoy a greater sense of wellbeing and health.

In terms of food, eat fruits such as bananas and melons, and vegetables such as squash and potatoes. Opt for low-fat dairy products like cottage cheese, and consider goat's milk, which is light on the stomach. Chamomile tea has a calming effect on your mood swings, and it's a good option when you are feeling emotionally frenzied.
