What's happening in your love life, marriage and social arena?
In January 2018, your ruling planet Mercury will be transiting your seventh house of love and relationships. This is a great start to the year because the planet of communication indicates yours and your partner’s openness to sharing ideas and moving your relationship forward in a way that is both mutual and harmonious. Even if you don’t happen to be in a relationship, Mercury’s transit in this position is excellent for opening you up to the general public and vice versa. You have your finger on the pulse and can connect with others not just for the purpose of love but also for commercial enterprise as well. Of course, the word mercantile comes from the planet Mercury.
Venus is the natural mover and shaker of love but also rules your fifth house of love affairs. We spoke of this in the overview at the beginning of your reading showing that Venus in your eighth house of sexuality kicks the year off in a rather unusual way. Having just moved away from the cool and restrictive conjunction of Saturn, it’s likely that the first part of 2018 will in a way be a type of finding your feet after maybe coming out of some rather cool and aloof interactions with the one you love. This is also likely to indicate, at least for some born under Gemini, relationships that have ended with a new transitional phase taking place before looking for love again. When might that be?
Well, along with Venus, we must look to Jupiter which rules your seventh house to see when the luckiest periods for romance might occur in the coming year. On August 7, Venus moves to your fifth house of love. This is one of the prime locations transit wise for romance arising. Furthermore, in your case, Venus is transiting its own sign of Libra which makes it particularly lucky for you. You should be on the lookout for love during this cycle.
Around this time, Venus is in trine aspect to Mars creating a very sexy combination indeed. You must however, be careful not to allow your mind to dwell on the past as on the 10th, the right angle to Saturn takes place which will cool your emotions as quickly as they were fired up. Conversations may also be under the hammer, being strained, with the solar eclipse taking place on August 11 in your third house of communications. It may not be easy to share your feelings during this phase. Mercury in square to Jupiter is likely to over inflate facts and also feelings so it’s important to keep a lid on your feelings before lashing out in anger. The same Mercury lends a helping hand around August 19 with its sextile aspect to Venus. Mercury also goes direct at this time ensuring that communications get back on track.
There may be tough and somewhat manipulative aspect leading up to 27 August when Venus enters the square of Pluto but the trine of the Sun says, get everything out in the open rather than letting negative emotions such as jealousy, vindictiveness or guilt undermine any relationship which would otherwise grant you satisfaction.
Jupiter’s transit in the sixth house is not necessarily an easy transit for relationships. First and foremost, it is an astrological principle that planets which relate to certain people in your life, posited in this sixth house, become inimical. In other words, lovers can and do become enemies. This may be more the case if you are coming out of a relationship and undergoing a divorce for example. The sixth house is also the house of debt both financially and to some extent karmically as it is opposite the 12th house. Currently as well, your North Node and South Node which relate to your future and past karma, create a T-square with Jupiter in this area of your horoscope indicating karmic debts may need to be paid off within your relationships.

Another meaning of this transit because the sixth house relates to health, could be that the one you love may not be at all well at different times of the year. This means putting your own agenda on hold and your own interests to the side to perhaps serve the one you love. This requires selflessness which if we are to believe the idealists, is the true object and foundation of love.
Jupiter, the principal planet of marriage in your horoscope is well conjoined by Mars in the beginning of the year. Mars is the ruler of your 11th house of friendships and so this does have a counterbalancing effect to above detrimental effects of Jupiter in the sixth house. Throughout the year, there are some important transits being made to Jupiter which also highlight those times when positive or negative effects are likely.
On January 8 and 9, the Sun and Venus are in sextile aspect to Jupiter indicating friendship, love and satisfaction. The first couple of weeks of February however indicate challenges with Venus, the Sun and Mercury all in square highlighting some of the challenges that may present themselves. These three planets will be transiting your ninth house of belief systems so it’s best to put aside your religious or political ideals when it comes to love.
March, June, September and again November indicate favourable times for love as these months offer excellent aspects to Jupiter. When Venus and Jupiter take part in these aspects, you can expect some fireworks in the love department. And when is that? June 2, when Venus trines Jupiter, July 22 when Venus sextiles Jupiter and also when your ruling planet Mercury makes similar aspects on January 25, March 2, June 20, September 16, November 28 and December 22.
Make sure you allow yourself the opportunity to connect with those you love or may be falling in love with, as the case may be.
Expect good fortune while attending any social meetings on these dates as you are lucky at these times.
